MESSAGE FROM FR. JEFF

Hello everybody!

Thank you for your prayers and expressions of love and support. I deeply appreciate our St. Pats family and am incredibly blessed by you. I had my follow up with the doctor this morning. As I had shared, the pathology came back negative and there was no other real abnormalities. I will have another CT scan in six months and follow up for two years. I am profoundly grateful and blessed!

The collapsed lung has affected my plans for the remaining part of the month. I was going to fly to Colorado, have a few days of solitude and prayer, join some of our scouts for a seven day backpacking trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in northern New Mexico, and visit dad and family for a few more days. It is recommended that I don’t fly for at least three weeks and to refrain from strenuous activity, like backpacking in the mountains. It may be regrettable or providential, but I was able to change plans to include driving to Colorado, meeting up with the scouts a couple of times, getting a full six days in for a retreat, and still spending time with family. It will be a slower pace, but that may be exactly what I need at this time. Please keep me in prayer from July 14-28. You will be in my prayer, as well. Thank you!

We are past the halfway point of the summer! The roof project and parking lot sealing continue, as does the annual cleaning, waxing, painting, and preparations of the school spaces for a new year. We continue our food collections for the month of July for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. We will also be letting you know how you can support the St. Joe’s Picnic for the Kids Cake Booth. Please look for flyers this weekend. We are preparing for many interesting learning and spiritual growth opportunities for the fall. Bible studies, faith sharing, and sessions to ask questions about the Catholic faith are all upcoming. Check out our website for all the details.

Finally, this is our second year to have youth and adults on mission in Guatemala. They are having an amazing experience and making a difference. Please pray for them! God bless them and all of us.

Peace,

Fr. Jeff
